Deloris Mae Palmer, 87, of Creston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 at Burbank Parke Care Center. Deloris was born on June 17, 1936 in Glencoe, OH to John Clarence and Mildred Delorse (Hall) Jeffers. She married Myers Eugene “Gene” Palmer on June 24, 1953. She retired from the housekeeping Department at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital and had made her home in Sterling for many years. Deloris attended Grace Church where she enjoyed listening to Pastor Bob preach. She also enjoyed planting flowers and gardening, but her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. Surviving is her husband of 70 years, Gene; her children and their spouses, Dale (Carol) Palmer and Douglas (Blenda) Palmer of Sterling, Debbie (John) Bowman of Burbank and Dean (Lois) Palmer of Creston; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren and sisters, Rilla Moraga of California and Gloria Manges of Wooster. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; John, Russell, James, Melvin and Bill Jeffers, sisters; Mary Stephens, Jeanie Palmer and her son-in-law, John. Services will be Monday, Feb. 19th at 2:00 at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Bob Combs officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of services on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
