Debra Dee (Garver) Mitchell

Debra Dee Mitchell, 64, of Wooster passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, after her second courageous battle with cancer.

Deb was born on August 2, 1960, in Lodi, Ohio to Duane and Joyce Garver, and was a 1978 graduate from Northwestern High School. Deb had primarily made her career working for the Western Reserve Group and had been there for over 25 years. Deb was a faithful member of the Canaan Free Will Baptist Church where she participated in lady’s bible study. She was also a faithful giver to many charitable mission projects. Deb was involved with Relay for Life doing walks to help fund cancer research. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in sports and she will be remembered for her love for taking care of others.

Deb is survived by her sons and their wives, Patrick and Becky Mitchell of Lodi and Greg Michell and Juliana Perez-Mitchell of Chicago, IL; grandchildren Jaxson, Olivia, Piper, Ava; her mother, Joyce (Tom) Rouse; brother, Don (Joy) Garver; stepsisters, Cathy Fairbanks and Carrie Hemeyer; and her nephew, David Garver.

She is preceded in death by her father Duane Garver and stepmother Pat Garver.

Services will be Wednesday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church, 12723 Cleveland Road, Creston with pastor Aaron Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, April 22 from 4-7 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canaan Free Will Baptist Church or to Relay for Life. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster for taking care of Deb in her final days and to her Church family and the Western Reserve Group for supporting her during her cancer battles.
