Deborah Jean George

Deborah Jean George, 64, of Polk, passed away surrounded by her loved ones at home on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer.

Debbie was born in Cleveland on Oct. 8, 1954 to the late Billy and Jean (Higgins) Widener. She had made her home in Creston prior to moving to Polk 16 years ago and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Kenneth and her loving daughter, Monica George; brothers and sisters, Gary Widener, Christine Wilson, Cindy (Paul) Katona and Margaret Higgins; many nieces and nephews including special nephews, Jacob and Gary Seaton and Larry “Bubby” Hicks; many great-nieces and nephews including Blake and Austin Seaton and Nevaeh and Layla Seaton who were her world; her many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the George family and her special caregivers, niece, Ashley Seaton and John Mathewson. She was preceded in death by brother, Mike Widener and sisters, Lois Seaton and Georgina Higgins.

Services will be Friday, Feb. 8that 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Jerry Hackworth officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
