David Eugene Lance, 75, of Vacaville, CA, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025 in Vacaville, CA after a brief illness.
David was born on Feb. 19, 1949 to Norman and Luella (Kerr) Lance and was a 1967 graduate of Norwayne High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on Feb. 14, 1968 and served in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force on July 3, 1990 as a Senior Master Sargent after 22 years and 4 months of faithful service. David soon started with United Airline as an aircraft mechanic and in 1993 moved his family to San Francisco working in the Maintenance Training Dept. He began attending the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and earned his Master’s Degree in Aviation Management. He retired from United Airlines in August, 2017 after 27 years. David was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and he and Cindy enjoyed traveling in their retirement. He was an avid hunter and had obtained his private pilot’s license in Hawaii.
Surviving is his wife, Cindy (Reber) Lance who he married on Jan. 25, 1970; sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Josie Lance, Sean and Renata Lance and Jason and Christina Lance; grandchildren, Mara and her husband Will, Aaron, Derek, Alana, Weston, Ian and Alivia and great-grandchildren, Liam and Madelyn.
Services will Monday, March 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Friends may call on Sunday, March 2nd from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
