David J. Green

David J. Green, 80, of Burbank, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 1, 2022 at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.

Dave was born May 12, 1942 in Shady Springs, WV to the late Roy and Bessie (Reece) Greene and was a graduate of West Tech High School in Cleveland.  On June 1, 1963 he married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Morella and she survives.  Dave retired in 2008 from Teledyne Hyson in Brecksville after 37 years of service.   He had made his home near Burbank since 1978 and was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in West Salem.  Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and woodcarving and he will be greatly missed by his family.

Surviving is his wife, Sandy; his children and their spouses, Christine and Greg Tharp of Jeromesville, David Jr. and Linda Green of Wadsworth, Charlene Green and Mike Camp of Wooster and Lynnette and Jeff Schar of Sterling; 9 grandchildren, Jacob and Rachel Tharp, Nicholas Tharp, Tiffany and Bryan Shriver, Lydia and Michael Eldrige, Noah Green, Dustin Camp, Justin Camp, Alyson Schar and Kristin Schar and great-grandchildren, Mason, Sydney and Maddox and a great-grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Doris Medina and step-brothers, Harold and Bob Fields.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church in West Salem.  Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call Wednesday, July 6th from 4-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Catholic Church, 44 Britton St., West Salem, OH 44287.
