Obituary

Crist J. Kurtz, 82, of 6794 Township Road 601, Millersburg, died peacefully n Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic after having suffered a stroke on March 30th.

Crist was born Sept. 14, 1935 in Holmes County to the late John J. and Emma (Schlabach) Kurtz and married Anna Hochstetler on Feb. 11, 1960. She survives. He worked at Beechvale Laminating and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving are his wife, Anna; children, Emma Lou (Mervin) Mast of Dundee, Robert (Fannie) Kurtz of Millersburg, Mary (Eddie) Yoder of Apple Creek, Johnny (Dora) Kurtz of Holmesville, David (Anna) Kurtz of the home and Barbara Ann (Lamar) Hochstetler of Fredericksburg; 32 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Vernon Kurtz of Millersburg, Mary (Menno) Yoder of Indiana, Sam Kurtz, Jacob (Bertha) Kurtz and Barbara (Dan) Mullet all of Millersburg and Ester (Ferman) Yoder of Sugarcreek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson; a great-granddaughter and sisters-in-law, Susan Kurtz and Susan S. Kurtz.

Services will be Tuesday, April 17that 9:00 a.m. at the residence with Bishop Andy J. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Hochstetler Cemetery, Millersburg. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements. The family extends their sincere thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at the Cleveland Clinic for the wonderful care given to Crist during his illness.
