Connie Marie McKelvey

Connie Marie McKelvey 68, of Fredericksburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster after an extended illness.

Connie was born on June 3, 1957, in Fort Campbell, KY to Robert and Janet (Nelson) Brady and was a 1975 graduate of Wooster High School and the Joint Vocational School. On Nov. 8, 1975, she married Kelly M. McKelvey, and they lived on the McKevley Family Farm in Fredericksburg where they raised their four children.

Connie had worked at Nichols Dept Store, Crum Pharmacy, St. Peter’s Pre-school, Nick Amster Workshop and Dream Hammock. She was a member of Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church and had been a 4-H Advisor and a member of Fredericksburg Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She had helped organize the first 4th of July Parade in Fredericksburg and enjoyed trips to Florida and the beach. She never missed a sporting event or school activities of her children and grandchildren, and she enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and sewing.

Surviving is her husband, Kelly; children and their spouse, Matthew and Tonya McKelvey, Shawn and Wendy McKelvey and Megan Bernhart all of Fredericksburg and Brittany and Matt Martie of New Braunfels, TX; her 11 grandchildren, Cowen, Haylee, Kinze, Case, Reid, Brady, Amelia, Knox, Gavin, Cadence, Easton and Stella; her father, Robert Brady of Wooster and brothers and sisters, Bob, Dan, Alex, Brian, Wendy and Bonnie.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Private services will be held at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg on Monday with burial in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
