Connie Jean Leaman

Connie Jean Leaman, 69, of Fredericksburg, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Aug. 28, 2023 after a battle with cancer.

Connie was born on Jan. 29, 1954 in Wooster to Virgil and Leta (Hostetler) Leaman and graduated from Waynedale High School in 1972. She had worked at Apple Creek Developmental Center for many years and retired from Mt. Vernon Developmental Center.  In retirement, she enjoyed transporting members of the Amish Community.  Connie was a member of Fredericksburg Church of Christ and Fredericksburg American Legion Auxiliary Unit 651.  Connie enjoyed flowers, her plants and canning but family was her greatest enjoyment.

Surviving is her son, Wayne Vaughan; brothers and sisters, Duane (Lori) Leaman, Jeff Leaman, Karen (John) Shaffer and Carol “Tootie” Baughman; Sisters-in-law, Kathy (Jimmy) Cottrill and Linda (Paul) Gaughan; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nieces that she loved and cousins and friends.

Her parents died previously.

Services will be Saturday, Sept. 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with burial following in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Murray Funeral Home PO Box 183 Fredericksburg, Ohio.
