Clennon Tackett

Clennon Tackett, 83, of Rittman, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Wooster Community Hospital after a period of declining health.

He was born on April 17, 1938 in Hunter, KY to Wheeler and Fronie (Lykins) Tackett. On June 23, 1965 he married Wilma Jean Russell and she survives.  Clennon retired from the Packaging Corp. of America in Rittman and was an avid Cleveland Indians and University of Kentucky Basketball fan.  He was a man of faith and had written several Gospel songs.  He enjoyed playing the guitar, Blue Grass Music and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Wilma Jean; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Diane Tackett of Rittman; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Barry Lejeune of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren, Luke, Beau, Isabelle and Olivia Lejeune and Katelyn and Seth Tackett; a brother Marvin Tackett of New York and a sister Dixie Fletcher of Kentucky.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Clifford “Bud” and Kermit Tackett and sisters, Inez Moore, Clova Stumbo, Shirley Horn and Margie and Alma Tackett.

Services will be Friday, April 15th at 12:00 noon at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. John Castle officiating.  Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
