Christina VonBergen, 77, of Creston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025 at Burbank Parke after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Chris was born on May 9, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan and met Dr. John R. “Jack” VonBergen, Jr. while he was doing his residency in Michigan. They were married on July 2, 1966 and moved to Creston in 1969 where “Doc” operated his medical practice with Chris as his nurse and office manager. Jack preceded Chris in death on Oct. 26, 2007. Chris was a member of Creston Canaan United Methodist Church and enjoyed doing ceramics, crafts, gardening and bowing. She collected Charlie Brown and the Peanuts memorabilia and was a huge Michigan Fan.
Surviving are her children, John R. III (Kimberly) VonBergen, Joseph (Heather) VonBergen and Carol (Scott) Norman; grandchildren, Kahla (Cory) Fickes, Lane VonBergen, Jesse VonBergen, Raeanna VonBergen, Torrie (Ian) Speicher and Tarren Norman and a great-granddaughter, Kopely Fickes.
Chris was preceded in death by her husband; her adopted parents, Joseph and Frances Zamora and was the last of her family of her brothers and sisters.
At Chris’s request, there will be no services, and burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Creston Canaan United Methodist Church, PO Box 1111, Creston, OH 44217.
