Cheryl Leigh Oswald, 76, of Creston, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025.
Cheryl was born on January 18, 1949, in Portsmouth, OH, to Ned Roland Green and Betty Kathleen Cooper. She graduated from Lafayette High School in Lexington, KY, and attended Western Kentucky University, where she met her husband, Arthur Lewis “Art” Oswald. They were married on July 12, 1969, in Mount Vernon, OH, and moved to Creston in 1972.
Cheryl was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Wooster, where she sang in the choir and shared her love of music. She and Art were former members of Canaan Lutheran Church. Cheryl was a wonderful mother and homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Jennifer Oswald of Beavercreek and Andrew and Alison Oswald of Medina; her 4 grandchildren, Kathryn, Elisabeth, Griffin and Adele and a sister, Barbara Brown of Phoenix, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Art on April 16, 2017, her mother, Kathleen Burk, and her father, Ned Green.
Services will be on Thursday, Aug. 28th at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Marty Jacobson officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster, OH 44691.
