Cheryl Lynn (Mealy) Fortune

Cheryl Lynn Fortune, 65 of Wooster, Ohio passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2023 after a brief illness.

Cheryl was born on Oct. 1, 1957 in Euclid, OH to Glenn and Roberta (Kester) Mealy and graduated from Norwayne High School in 1975.  She married Thomas Fortune and they were married for 24 years until his death on Nov. 6, 2017.  She retired from Elder Beerman in Wooster where she made many friends.  Cheryl loved genealogy and doing family research and she loved traveling with family..

Surviving are her children: Daniel (Lissa) Lance, Joel Lance, Jeremy Lance and Jessie Fortune; step-daughters: Melissa (Carl) McCarthy, Shannon Fortune, and Kelly (Marty) Fortune-Sommerville; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and brothers and sisters, Glenn Mealy, Charlotte (Gordon) Duncan, Sharon (Joe) Sheehy, Carolyn Mealy and Randall Mealy.

Services will be Saturday, Sept. 30th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg where friends may call from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery.
