Cheryl C. Burton September 9, 1944 - May 15, 2018

Obituary:

Cheryl Carolyn Burton passed away peacefully on May 15, 2018. She was born September 9, 1944 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to James M. Burton and Esther M. Burton (nee DeWaard). She graduated from Cloverleaf High School in the class of 1962.

Our hearts will miss her warm smile, loving arms, and encouraging words. She was known as Best friend, Sister, Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Aunt to those who loved her. Cheryl blessed the world around her in many ways, especially with her warmth, kindness, and creativity. She loved to travel, cook, sew, write, watch movies, play games, and read with loved ones. Although she could list a variety of professional experiences, at the end of her life she would say her favorites were that of homemaker and mother.

She is survived by best friend and partner, Rebecca Cabell of Creston, Ohio, daughters Tammy (Brian) Starkey of Chippewa Lake, and Tina (Randy) Jarvis of Creston, and son Todd (Julie) Lloyd of Alpharetta, Georgia and grandchildren Kayla Jarvis (Russell Hinds), Valerie (Jake) Schwartfigure, Quinn Starkey, Abby Lloyd, Joshua Jarvis and Tommy Lloyd, and two great-granddaughters, Zoey and Aria Schwartfigure.

She will run to the arms of family in heaven who preceded her in death; beloved parents, Jim M. Burton, mother, Esther Collett, brothers; James and John Burton, and step-father, Louis C. Collett.

A private family service will be held with burial to follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Seville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 10200 Alliance Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45242. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
