Charles Lee Lycans, 87, of Rittman, went home to the Lord on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 2:50 a.m. at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.
Charles was born in West Virginia on June 27, 1936 to Sarah Ethel and Kenneth Lycans. Charles made a home in Rittman, Ohio raising his family and his gardens for 64+ years. He retired from the PCA/ Carastar in 2001 and loved spending his free time outside working on something, gardening, going to church with his brothers or just being surrounded by his family.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Mable (Napier) Lycans; his brothers, Paul, Dallas and Ray Lycans and a sister, Alberta (Bertie) Clark. Surviving are his children, Mary Lycans, Cecilia (Tom ) Jervis and Charlie (Sara) Lycans; his grandchildren, Terril Terry, Julie (Curtis) Light, and Jeremy Liston all of Rittman and Chaun (Crystal )Rowland of Georgia; great-grandchildren, Dakota Terry, Cyres (Sammie) Jervis, Jasmine and Charles Light all of Rittman and Jocelyn & Trinity Rowland of Georgia; brothers, Wendell (Trula) Lycans of Sterling, Glenn (Geri) Lycans of Georgia and Ruben (Donna) Lycans of Ohio and a sister Amy Webb of South Point and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday, May 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Rittman. We’d like to thank the staff at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster for taking care of him at the end. Please send flowers to Murray Funeral Home in Creston.
