Charles Richard "Chuck" Edwards

Charles Richard “Chuck” Edwards Sr., 69, of Burbank, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

Chuck was born in Erie, PA on Oct. 6, 1953 to William and Louise (Long) Edwards and served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War from 1971 – 1974.  On Dec. 13, 1973 he married Betty Jo Hibbins and she preceded him in death on Jan. 2, 2020.   Chuck had earned an associate’s degree from the College of Wooster in Business Management and had been a truck driver for over 40 years having retired from Black Horse Carries, Inc. in 2021.  A member of the N.R.A., Chuck loved NASCAR and Dirt Track Racing. Chuck was a very special soul who was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his children, Missy and Jeramie Plemmons of Stark, FL, Charles Jr. and Christy Edwards of Sterling, Heidi and Jeff Miner of Wadsworth and Gage (Nicole) Edwards of Burbank; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol and Curt Dickens and Judy and Buzzy Laboda both of Erie, PA and many family members and friends including special sisters, Rhonda Richards, Tammy Atwood and Bobbi Newbury.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, son, David Martin in 2016, his father, his mother and brothers, Phil, Eldon, Ronnie, Paul, Donnie, Billy, Mike and Jack.

Services will be Saturday, April 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Burbank Cemetery.  Friends may call Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
