Charles Harry Baisden, 86, of Creston, passed away on Monay, Aug. 3, 2026, at West View Healthy Living in Wooster while surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.
Charles was born on Jan. 28, 1940, in Wayne WV to Harrison and Bertha (Bloss) Baisden and graduated from Wayne High School in 1957. On Dec. 7, 1958, he married Anna M. Adkins and Anna preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 2008. Charles retired from PCA/Caraustar in Rittman with over 40 years of service and had made his home in Creston since 1967. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rittman. Charles loved football and baseball and always followed the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Guardians. He also enjoyed collecting baseball cards.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, John and Ivy Baisden of Wadsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ralph Lingrel of Wooster; daughter-in-law, Elaine Baisden of Wooster; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren with one soon to be born; sister-in-law, Lois Baisden of Creston and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; sons, Jack, Joey and James Baisden; his parents; brothers, James Elmo, Glen, William, Merle, Burgess and Stanley and sisters, Emma Faye Winebrenner, Iva Jean Varney and infant sisters, Ruth and Naomi.
Services will be Friday, Aug. 7th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Mike LaMar officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 12:00 until time of services at 2:00 p.m.
