Carol A. Shane, 85, of Creston, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2023 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster after a very brief illness.
Carol was born in Wadsworth on Nov. 1, 1937 to Glade and Esther (Wagner) Boss and was a 1955 graduate of Norwayne High School. On Sept. 2, 1956 she married Harvey D. Shane and he preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 2015. Carol had worked for Chippewa Valley Bank in Sterling and then First National Bank in Seville and was a caregiver to her son Rick for 38 years. She was a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church and was a wonderful baker and cook. She loved attending her grandkids' sporting events and she was always watching basketball and volleyball on television. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl Koch and Laurie and her husband David Boley both of Creston; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Boss of Creston and Martha IBob) Baker of Rittman and sisters-in-law, Mary Boss of Wooster and Kathleen Shane of Sterling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Rick Shane in 2020; her parents and a brother, Neal Boss.
Services will be Wednesday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Aaron Bailey officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
