Carl Edward Suppes

Carl Edward Suppes, 91, of Wooster, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 2, 2023.

Carl was born in Cameron, OH on Aug. 1, 1931 to   John A.  and Joanna (Boughner) Suppes and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War.  On April 27, 1957 he married Maralee Ruth Patterson and she preceded him in death on May 29, 2005.  He retired from Rubbermaid, Inc. after 40 years of service and was a faithful member of Orrville Christian Church.  Carl worked hard supporting his family and is remembered for his large garden that he planted and for his daily 4 mile walk along Friendsville Road.

Surviving are his four children and their spouses, Joanna Kay and Jim Yoder of Lexington, KY, Diane and Dwight Yensho of Wooster, Tim and LuAnn Suppes of Apple Creek and James and Lynne Suppes of Wooster.  He was a loving grandfather to his 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and he will be greatly missed.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and brothers and sisters, Marie Schaffter, Mae Oestrich, Colonel Suppes, Pauline Alleman, Paul Suppes, Carie Kirland, Zelda Mokosh, Nancy Pumneo, Vada Nething, Bessie Nething, Nora Boner, Gail Henthorn, and John Suppes and two great-granddaughters.

Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at  Orrville Christian Church with Pastor Tom Ledford officiating.  Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:30 a.m.    at the Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Orrville Christian Church, 925 N. Elm St., Orrville, OH 44667 or to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.  Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
