MAYNARDVILLE, Tenn. -- Carl J. "Skip" Reese, 80, of Maynardville, Tennessee, earned his golden wings on Dec. 24, 2016.
He was born June 3, 1936 in Madisonburg to Thomas and Dorothy (Sutliff) Reese and lived most of his life in the Creston and Wadsworth areas. He relocated to Tennessee after retirement.
Skip was known by many and loved by all. He was a 1955 graduate of Norwayne High School and was Norwayne’s first quarterback for the football team. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard in Tennessee for 14 years. Skip was an avid golfer, loved horse racing and loved coaching kids. He forever will be remembered for his spunkiness and ability to make people laugh.
Skip is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Ann (Razel) Reese; his second wife, Julianne (Kimble) Reese; brothers, Donald “Tony” and Roger; and sisters, Marjorie Coffey, Sally Sloan, Harriet Reese and Nancy Reese.
He is survived by loving children, Tony J. Reese of Ohio and Melissa (Eric) Hill of Tennessee; sisters, Patty Miller and Judy Reese; stepsons, Duane (Linda), Mike and Steve Kimble; and beloved grandchildren, Ashley Caynor, David,Tony, Constance and Carter Reese, Justin, Cameron and Hayden Hill, Gabriel, Michael and Angelina Kimble and Mindi Lombardo.
Memorial services will be Monday, March 13th at 1:30 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends will be received one hour prior to services. Military Honors and inurnment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
