Carl W. Sinnett, 89, of Millersburg, died peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at the Holmes County Home after a brief period of declining health.

Carl was born Sept. 29, 1930 in Ritchie County, WV to the late Guy and Clara (Duff) Sinnett and married the former Geraldine “Dee Dee” Duncan on June 6, 1964. He and Dee Dee shared 56 wonderful years together.  A hardworking man, Carl worked as a Barber seven days a week at Castle Nursing Homes for 55 years until retiring.  He was a member of the Fredericksburg Church of Christ, the Wooster Eagles and the Killbuck VFW.  Carl enjoyed smoking his pipe, loved playing Blue Grass and County Music and would play his banjo and mouth harp with his brother, Burl.  He loved going to his grandkids sporting events and in 2013 he was the West Holmes Knights fan of the year.  He and Dee Dee opened their home to many family member’s children over the years and cared and loved them.  He will be greatly missed by many.

Surviving are his wife, Dee Dee; children, Debbie (Allen) Hoxworth and Sharee (Eric) Miller both of Millersburg, Gilbert (Carol) Sinnett of Stow and Brenda (David) Melchor-Olsafsky of Tippecanoe;  grandchildren; Rusty D. (BJ) Dawson, April (Will) Rose, Doris (Jim) Miller, Donna Thomas, Brandon (Tony) Stevens, Brock (Misty) Eiler, Breanna (Kyle) Maurer, Cody Shane, Tyler (Kayla) Miller, Cortney (Derrik) Yerian, Taylor (Marcus) Edwards, Rachel (Jeremy) Ballinger, Landon (Eryn) Sinnett, Shannon Sinnett, Audra (Daryl) Baker and  Abriel (Brandon) Shoup; 29 great-grandchildren and 12  great great-grandchildren;  a brother, Henry “Pete” (Jean) Sinnett of Millersburg and a sister, Susie Cox of Pullman, WV.

He was preceded in death by a son, Rusty Dawson, a grandson Austin Melchor, brothers, Harley, Burl and Jack and sisters, Flo Dennings, Margaret Parsons, Twila Miller and infant Eva Sinnett.

Services will be Thursday, Aug. 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Pastor Jerimiah Scadden officiating.  Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery.  Friends may  call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Please wear a mask and practice social distancing at this time for the family’s safety.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to the Holmes County Home, 7260 State Route 83, Holmesville 44633.  A special thanks to the staff at the County Home and to his granddaughter, Cortney for the wonderful care given to Carl.
