Carl Roger Kick, 87, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan, 13, 2024 at Divine Nursing Center in Wooster.
Carl was born on Aug. 1, 1936 in Navarre and was raised in Dalton where he graduated from Dalton High School in 1954. He met Kathryn Lynn Ritzi at a Rural Youth dance and they were married on Sept. 8, 1957. Carl was self-employed in the construction business and owned Carl Kick & Son Builders and he had also owned and operated Sir Penguin Restaurant in Orrville. He had driven bus for Wayne County Senior Transportation and also for field trips for Wooster Christian School. Carl enjoyed working and he enjoyed raising tomatoes around his home. He had been a former member of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Reserve.
Surviving is his wife, Kathryn; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Oscar Roque of Ida, MI and Karen and Terry Eckman of Wooster; son, David Kick of Apple Creek; grandchildren and their spouses, Stephen and Ashleigh Roque, Nathan and Jessica Roque, Jonathon and Brittany Roque, Christina and Kurt Montri, Douglas and Amber Anderson, Trent Anderson, Tyler and Megan Kick, Matthew and Kelsey Kick, Benjamin and Maryssa Kick and Kyle and Judy Kick; 23 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; a brother, Ronald and Linda Kick of Lakeville; a sister, Joanne and Gerald Raack of Pataskala; a sister-in-law, Cheri Kick; a brother-in-law, Jack Lewis and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters and brother, Jacqueline (Floyd) Douglas, his twin brother, Charles Kick and Janet Lewis.
Services will be Saturday, Jan. 20th at 1:30 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Wingate officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Friday, from 5-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd, Wooster, OH 44691.
