Rev. Carl T. Abbott

Rev. Carl T. Abbott, 82, of Wooster, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 at the Smithville-Western Care Center.

Carl was born May 5, 1936 in Fulton, NY to Carl O. and Pauline J. (Ducharme) Abbott and married the former Wilma Childs on Nov. 30, 1974 who survives. He received his Bachelor of Theology degree from Baptist Bible Seminary of Johnson City, New York in1959 and in 1984 graduated from Grand Rapids Baptist Theological Seminary with his Master’s Degree in Religious Education. In 1972 Carl joined Baptist Mid-Missions and along with Wilma spent 30 years in campus ministry. They spent many of those years in Cleveland with four years in Australia and 10 years where Carl served as the first National Coordinator for Campus Bible Fellowship. Serving the Lord and loving people were his passions as well as developing Biblical Discipleship Materials. He and Wilma made their home near Holmesville since 2012.

Services will be Saturday, Nov. 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home, 249 S. Mill St., Fredericksburg, OH with burial following at Fredericksburg East Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Two memorial services will be held: Sunday, Nov. 4th at 2:00 p.m. Heritage Baptist Church, 679 W. Main St., Smithville, OH and on Saturday, Nov. 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Berea Baptist Church, 250 West St., Berea, OH where friends will be received one hour prior to the Berea service.
