Bruce Raymond Stahl, 66, of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023 at Akron City Hospital after a brief illness.
Bruce was born in Lodi on June 16, 1956 to Raymond and Esther (Pinkley) Stahl and was a 1974 graduate of Norwayne High School. He started his electrical career with McClintock Electric in Wooster and later W.S. Bixler’s in Wadsworth before starting his own business, Stahl Electric in Wadsworth. Bruce had formed and coached the Creston Merchant’s Slow Pitch Softball Team, served on the Creston Fire Dept. where he was an Assistant Chief and was active in the Creston Ox Roast for a number of years. He was a member of the Wadsworth Moose and had been an avid bowler. A huge part of Bruce’s identity was his passion for cooking. You could always find next week’s menu posted when you opened his backdoor.
Bruce married the love of his life, Sue Ellen Shank in 1983 and they shared nearly 40 years together. After Sue was diagnosed with Dementia five and half years ago, Bruce dedicated his life, caring for her and making sure all her needs were met.
Surviving is his wife, Sue Ellen; his mother, Esther Stahl; sisters, Chris and brother-in-law Bill Buckingham of Burbank and Sue Stahl of Creston; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tim and Vicki Shank of Green and Pat and Pam Shank of Cincinnati and his nieces and nephews that held a special place in all of their hearts. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Stahl.
Bruce requested there be no calling hours and services but there will be a gathering on Saturday, Feb. 11th at 2:00 p.m. at Creston Moose Lodge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Summa Health Palliative Care, Akron Campus,
