Brett Alan Defoor

March 18, 1974 — May 12, 2022

Urbana

Loving father, son, brother, and dear friend Brett Alan DeFoor passed away the morning of Thursday May 12th, 2022 after valiantly battling stage-four, metastatic breast cancer. Brett was born on March 18th, 1974 to loving parents in Medina, Ohio. Brett is survived by his wife, Heather Adams; his mother, Carol DeCoster; his two brothers, Matthew and Mark DeFoor; his four beautiful children, Thomas, Avery, and Raymond DeFoor and Brooklyn Claypool; along with numerous extended family members; all of whom loved him dearly. Brett is preceded in death by his father Raymond DeFoor who also bravely battled cancer. On any given day, Brett could be found searching for a new fishing spot or itching to go back to one he’s been before, just as his father before him. The only thing Brett loved more than fishing and the outdoors was his family and friends. Brett will always be known for his famous and delicious cooking. He never passed up the opportunity to cook for anyone or any occasion, a skill and passion he learned from his mother. The unending and unconditional love that Brett held in his heart will never be forgotten and all who have had the pleasure to meet our Brett will always remember the warmth and joy he brought to life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to this GoFundMe (gofundme.com/qtdah-lets-help-brett) to help our family directly or to The Ohio State University’s James Cancer Research Hospital in order to help those who struggle with the same battle Brett has. Above all, our family believes in the everlasting love of God and his ability to help our family during this difficult time. We ask that all keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
