Boyd E. Stiles

Boyd E. Stiles, 87 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024 at Wellspring Lutheran Nursing Home in Fairview, Michigan after a period of declining health. Boyd was born and raised in Armagh/Johnstown, PA on May 3, 1936 to the late Boyd Sr. and Mabel Fry Stiles and graduated from Richland Township High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. After his stint in the Air Force he married Anita R. Smith and they were married for 64 years until her death on Sept. 6th, 2021. Boyd retired from American Airlines where he worked as a Fleet Service Clerk. He and Anita made their home in Manassas, VA. After years in Virginia they decided to move to Smyrna, TN. There he eventually retired from American Airlines. He was requested to take over a church in Murfreesboro, TN as the Pastor where after a few years he handed it over to another Pastor to continue on the work. He was later diagnosed with dementia and eventually moved in with his daughter and son-in-law. Together after a couple of years, the four moved to Millersburg, Ohio. He lived with his son and daughter-in-law for a year, was near his granddaughter and her family, and due to declining health was a resident of the Wellspring Nursing Home for a year before the Lord called him home. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Sherri Stiles of Fairview, MI; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Tom Heaton of Fredericksburg, OH; grandchildren, Starr Stiles, Valerie and Dustin Wyse and Blake and Holly Stiles; great-grandchildren, Dawson, Meagan and Julia Wyse and Bendt and Wesley Stiles and a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Donna Stiles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita, his parents, Boyd Sr. and Mabel Stiles and sisters, LaRue Shomo and Barbara Rager. Services will be Friday, Jan. 26th at 11:00 am at the Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, Ohio. Burial will be in the Berlin Ohio Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
