Bonnie Opal Spellman, 90, of Creston, passed away on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.
Bonnie was born on April 10, 1935, in Hughes Creek, WV to Harry and Chole (Brown) Frye. She had work at Permold Industries and had made her home in the Creston area for many years. Bonnie was a 25-year member of the Ashland Chapter #92 O.E.S. and a member of the Creston Moose Lodge. Bonnie loved to shop but most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Ronald (Nina) Dempsey of Dixie, WV, Cherly (John) Moore of Creston, Deborah (John) Komer of Sharon Center and Robert (Joanna) Capenter of Jacksboro, TN; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; her loving companion of 23 years, Olin Metz and a sister, Elma Myers of San Antonia, TX.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Glen and sisters, Katherine, Treva, Leva and Emma.
Services will be Friday, Aug. 15th at 11:00 a. m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Shreve. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
