Bobbie Lee Bolen, 78, of Creston, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, at Smithville-Western Care Center after a brief illness.
Bobbie was born on Oct. 10, 1946, in Lodi, to John William and Eunice Ann (Sutterfield) Bolen and married Magdeline Parsons on July 12, 1974. Maggie preceded him in death on Feb.18, 2012. He had retired from Volvo in Orrville and then worked for DNR in Wadsworth for 6 years in his retirement. Bobbie had made his home in Creston all of his life and attended Rittman Community Freewill Baptist Church and Canaan Free Will Baptist Church over the years. He was a member of the former Flying Eagles CB Club and had worked at the Creston Fish Fry and Ox Roast and at the Wayne County Speedway. Bobbie enjoyed going to garden tractor pulls, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his daughters, Laura Bolen and Crystal and her husband Ralph Holiday, grandchildren, Kayla and husband Tim Cyrus, RJ Holiday, Austin Holiday and Russel Holiday and a great-grandson, Timmy Lee Cyrus.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie, daughter Stephanie in 2011, grandson, Daniel Maxwell and sister, Patsy Fortner.
Services will be Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
