Beulah Jean King

Beulah Jean King, 97, of Creston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 while surrounded by her family at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.

Jean was born on March 7, 1926 in  Webbville, KY to Henry H. and Connie (Scruggs) Webb and married William H. King on Oct. 22, 1943.  Bill preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2016. She was a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church.  Jean enjoyed reading her Bible, making baby blankets for grandchildren, flower gardening, listening to gospel music and ceramics.  She is remembered for her homemade bread, noodles, bread and butter pickles and her delicious pies, her hospitality to all who visited King’s Acres, her wonderful heartfelt words of love and encouragement that she sent in many cards of get well and condolences to friends and family, her faith in God, her sparkling eyes and her beautiful smile.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Daniel and Bonnie King of West Salem, Kathleen King of Creston, Philip and Alicia King of San Antonia, TX and Alice and Steve Arnold of Creston; 8 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, sons, William Henry Jr, and John Robert and sisters and brothers, Eunice McComas, Evelyn, Everett, Mary, Hager, Mason, Mildred, Leonard, Philip, Alta and Bradford Webb and Madge Anderson.

Services will be Friday, Jan. 12th at 1:30 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Travis McKenzie officiating.  Burial will be at Jackson Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
