Betty Jeanne Schorle

Betty Jeanne Schorle, 92, went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2025 with her daughters at her side.

Betty was born in Wadsworth on June 1, 1932 to Clarence and Hilma (Minnich) Buckingham. On Sept. 28, 1955 she married the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Schorle and they were faithful companions and servants of the Lord until his passing on Dec. 26, 2022. She was a longtime member of First Assembly of God in Wadsworth where she had taught Sunday School for over 40 years and more recently was a member of Crossroads Assembly of God in Creston.  Betty was a wonderful homemaker who loved to cook and bake.

She was a wonderful mother to her three daughters, JoEtta and Fred  Sheppard of Sterling, Mary Prinkey of Burbank and Denee Schorle and Mike Davis of Seville; also surviving are her grandchildren and spouses, Todd and Katy Sheppard, Tonya Hartwell, Lori Prinkey and Josh Hartman; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Logan (Samantha), Bryana, Katie, Nathan, Ayden, Evelyn and Lukas;  sister, Maxine and her husband Gene Speich of Columbus, brother, Robert and his wife Muriel Buckingham of Wadsworth and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; daughter, JoEtta Sheppard; sons-in-law, Robin Prinkey and Dave Flaker; her parents, sisters, Gloria Barr and Barb Buckingham and brothers, Donald and Dwane Buckingham.

Services will be Friday, May 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Boggs officiating.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 or to Crossroads Assembly of God, 10220 Wooster Pike, Creston, OH 44217.  The family extends their deepest appreciation to the staff of LifeCare Hospice and the nurses and aides at the Avenue of Wooster for the amazing care they gave to our mother.
