Betty Jane Keck

February 18, 1918 — July 17, 2016

Betty J. Keck, 98 of North Canton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at St. Luke Lutheran Home and she was ready.

Betty was born Feb. 18, 1918 in Stark County to the late Arden and Helen Fashbaugh Workinger and married the late Rev. Thomas R. Keck on April 17, 1938. In their later years, they served together in the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church ministering in Lakefork, Burbank, Shreve and as a visitation pastor at Greensburg. She had also been the secretary at Jackson High School and was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church. Betty was a true prayer warrior who loved the Lord and all of his people.

Surviving are her children, Thomas (Carol) Keck of North Canton, Michael (Georgia) Keck of Mounds, OK, Daniel (Carol) Keck of Stockport and Jeanne (Eric) Scott of North Canton; daughter-in-law, Connie Keck of Cleveland, GA; 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Mae Ackley of North Canton.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986; son Nelson Mark Keck, a brother Robert Workinger and a sister, Lois Lutz.

Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at McDonaldsville United Methodist Church 7641 Wales Ave., NW, North Canton with Revs. Abby Auman, Brandon Keck and Erv Urschitz officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the services on Friday.
