Betty Lou Chrostowski, 72, of Wooster, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016 at Wooster Community Hospital following a sudden illness.
Betty was born Nov. 22, 1943 in Cameron, Monroe County, Ohio to the late George and Armenda Mae (Moore) Vaness and for the past 38 years shared her life with her companion, James “Jimmy” Johnson. She retired from Nabisco Brands in Seville after 30 years and had made her home in Creston prior to moving to Wooster in 1982. Betty enjoyed canning, tending to her flowers, camping and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her companion, Jimmy; children, Mary Gunn of Creston, Sandy Chrostowski, Ed (Angie) Chrostowski and John Chrostowski all of Wooster and Mark (Mary) Johnson of Delaware; grandchildren, Morgan Gunn, Tyler (Dedra) Chrostowski, Chelsea Chrostowski, Cody Chrostowsi and Cameron, Christopher, Colton, Corey and Chad Johnson; 5 great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters, Ray Vaness and Ralph Vaness both of Rittman, Gladys Mowery of Cameron, Sylvia Hoke of Beallsville, Martha Holiday of Creston and Boyd Vaness her twin brother of Cameron and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 11 brother and sisters.
Services will Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Jerry Hackworth officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
