Beth Lynn (Russell) Wake

Beth Lynn (Russell) Wake, 60, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away June 4, 2020 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by her husband Mark and sons Zachary and Ryan.

Beth was the daughter of Ronald “Bill” and Joan Kay (Ruble) Russell, longtime residents of Creston, Ohio. Beth graduated from Norwayne High School class of 1978. Beth went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from The College of Wooster class of 1982.She met her future husband Mark at the Wayne County Fair in 1985.  They were married on May 30, 1987 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wooster, Ohio. Together they spent the next 26 years in Wooster watching their sons grow as they completed their education, participate in athletics and scouting and go on to College.Beth worked at Stebbins National Bank and Wayne Savings Community Bank for 31 years in the positions of Operations Manager and Staff Accountant before moving with the family to Memphis, Tennessee and later to Louisville, Kentucky.She really enjoyed reading, scrap booking, and camping in new exciting places. Beth loved playing and relaxing with her puppies Baxter, Bandit and Mera.  Any sunny warm day one was sure to see her riding in her convertible Mustang, top down and wind blowing through her hair. She was also Vice President for the Wooster High School Marching Band Music Parents Association and treasurer of the Derby City Mustang Club in Louisville.

Besides her husband Mark and sons, Zachary and Ryan,  Beth leaves her mother Joan Kay (Ruble) Russell of Rittman, OH; brothers, Michael (Pam) Russell, of Hartville, OH, David (Reggie) Russell, of Rittman, OH and Rod Russell, of Lewisville, Texas, as well as nieces and nephews, and many great friends.

Beth was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Creston OH on Thursday June 11th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m..  Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wooster, OH  on Friday June 12th at 11:00 a.m. Please respect the church’s guidelines on social distancing and wearing a mask.   Burial will be in Montgomery, OH at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date.
