Bernard L. "Butch" Norton

Bernard L. “Butch” Norton, 88, of Creston, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

Butch was born on May 15, 1937, in Canaan to Benjamin and Mildred (Huffman) Norton and served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 31, 1954 – Dec. 13, 1957. On April 24, 1957, he married Gloria McMillan, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 2016. Butch worked for Medina Supply for 38 years until retiring in 1999. He had served on the Creston Board of Public Affairs for several years and was a lifetime member of Creston Moose Lodge 1224.

Surviving are his children, Dawn Morris of Cabot, AR and Terry Norton of Hudson; 6 grandchildren, Angela, Megan, Taylor, Haley, Hillary and Olivia; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Norton and Nancy and her husband Larry Beichler of Wooster and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; son-in-law, Bill Morris; infant grandson, Jack Norton, his parents, sisters, Priscilla Norton and Edith Justice and a brother, Richard Norton.

Military Honors and burial were held on Tuesday, April 14th at Maple Mound Cemetery in Creston.
