Benjamin Thomas Lackey

Benjamin Thomas “Ben” Lackey, 49, of Lodi passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 16, 2026.

Ben was born on May 23, 1977, in Medina to Daniel and Sharon (McDowell) Lackey. He had attended Ashland College and had most recently been working at Wingstop as director of operations. Ben was a member of the AA program where he always sought to help others through the opportunities the program provided. In his free time Ben enjoyed traveling and loved to spoil his nieces and nephews who he enjoyed getting to help raise.

Ben is survived by his mother, Sharon Lackey; father, Daniel (Donna) Lackey; sisters, Stephanie Lackey and Angela Lackey; nieces and nephews, Alexis Heidinger, Mikey Heidinger, Daniel Heidinger, Lillian Lackey, Owen White, Devon White, Destiny Lister and Trinity Lister; his best friend, Koda; many great-nieces and nephews; and lots of friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Diana Lackey and Nellie McDowell, stepfather, Mark Longenecker, and uncles, Harry McDowell and Billy McDowell.

Graveside Services will be on Friday, October 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Medina with a funeral procession leaving from Murray Funeral Home in Creston at 10:15 a.m. Friends may call Thursday, October 22 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral in Creston.
