Barbara Sue Olson

Barbara Sue Olson, 74, of Creston, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Wayne County Care Center after a period of declining health.

Barb was born on Aug. 15, 1951, in Bellaire, OH to Paul Sr. and Sylvia Mae (Landis) Wayts and was a 1969 graduate of Norwayne High School. On Oct. 18, 1975, she married Ronald E. Olson and together they shared over 51 years together. Barb made her home in the Creston and Sterling area and enjoyed many things from doing ceramics, blackberry moonshine and playing Solitaire. She loved spoiling her nieces and nephews and she loved her three much loved cats, Sissy, Sassy and Rocky.

Surviving is her husband, Ron; sister-in-law, Glenda Wayts of Creston and nieces and nephews that she considered her kids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Glenna, brothers, Paul Jr. and Dean and her infant twin brother, Gary.

Services will be Tuesday, May 26th at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends may call form 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.

The family extends their deepest appreciation to Barb’s niece, Jennifer and the staff members of Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare and the Wayne County Care Center for all the love and care given to Barb.
