Barbara J. Chance

Barbara J. Chance, 93, formerly of Creston, died Friday, July 1, 2016 at O’Neill Healthcare Center in North Ridgeville following a period of declining health. Barb was born April 5, 1923 in Pontiac, MI to the late Walter E. and Elsie B. (Kornhaus) Rossel and was a 1941 graduate of Seville High School. She had worked at the Westfield Companies for several years and had made her home in Seville prior to moving to Creston in 1979. Barb was a member of the Creston United Methodist Church and a former member of the Seville Presbyterian Church and the Seville VFW Auxiliary. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Boyes of Fairborn, OH; grandchildren, Kimberly (Daniel) Yeager, Bryan (Rebecca) Boyes and Jane (Joseph) Toth; great-grandchildren, Joey Bynum, Dylan and Ethan Boyes and Tammy Toth. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence O. Chance on June 8, 1992 and her son-in-law, Ted Boyes. Services will be Tuesday, July 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home, 173 S. Main St., Creston with Pastor Deborah Quillen officaiting. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
