Autumn Bise

"Autumn girl" is gone from our home, but not from our lives. She is finally free from that "yucky tumor" disease....but let me tell you about her life! Autumn came to us (her parents Jay and "Katelan" Bise), on a chilly April morning, our first girl, Autumn was everything feminine and beautiful, with a tremendous dose of feisty.

We have always said if we had a single word to describe our Autumn girl it is one hundred percent going to be "amiable". She showed this daily in the way she encouraged each of her three brothers and her sister. Autumns' love for animals was insatiable, she loved her new puppy "Colt" and her 23 chickens....."but could we maybe get a bunny too?"

Autumn loved dance parties, eating ice cream, drawing, cookouts, bonfires, and swimming in Uncle Jim and Aunt Meg's pool. Autumn loved to laugh and tease, hide and jump scare her mama. At each bedtime she would ask for a hug and a kiss and then "just one more hug".

Autumn adored her daddy, she basked in his kind smile, and thrived on his encouragement.

Autumn loved for her mom to tell her stories, and scoop Autumn up as she ran towards her mom.

Autumn loved and looked up to her big brother Buck.

She and her sister Brooke would play "mommy" for hours on end, with either one of her somewhat unwilling younger brothers, or one of her 100's of stuffies.

Autumn and her brother Abe's shared love/borderline obsession with frogs, found them both, outside on many an early morning frog hunt together.

Autumns' youngest brother John Luke was just 5 months old when she was diagnosed and they became an inseparable pair as she worked her way thru 17 months of treatments, surgeries, therapy, etc. Every visit, every moment John Luke was there, sitting or playing nearby, silently cheering her on.

Autumn was full of and surrounded by love, from the family that will travel from far and wide, the neighbors that always waved at her, her daddies workplace that showered blessings and goodies on her and us, the community that walled up and built themselves around us, the prayer warriors, the medical staff that loved her for her ( that one that left work for the day to come to her bell ringing), the ones that made PT fun, her family that come close and celebrate with her at every opportunity, you each know who you are, and Autumn knew you and she took all that love in like medicine. She is survived by her dad and mom, Jay and Katelan Bise (Stathes). Three brothers and only sister. Grandparents John Stathes and Judy Person. Great grandma (Yia Yia) Electra Stathes, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Waiting for her in heaven are her Grandma Betty Bise, and Granpa Richard Bise.

In the end, Autumn was taken from us suddenly. Autumn taught us a lot, one of the most important lessons was joy. She probably said at least once every day of her life "best day ever!" It is our families wish to live this saying each day for our sweet girl. When her time came her mama was privileged to hold her, sing to her, and very solemly hand her into the arms of Jesus, after "one more hug". Oh Autumn, that was truly your "best day ever!"

Will you come and celebrate her life with us at a viewing in her hometown on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, at Murray Funeral Home in Creston from 5-7 p.m. A private family service will be held at Maple Mound Cemetery in Creston on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
