Arlis Jean Archer

Arlis Jean Archer, 91, of Orrville passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, at Danbury of Massillon.

She was born on Dec. 2, 1934, in Beallsville, Ohio to the late John W. and Stella (Ady) Pittman and married William H. Archer on Oct. 6, 1956. Jean and Bill shared 57 happy years together, living mostly in the Dalton and Massillon area, until Bill ‘s death on July 11, 2014. Jean thoroughly enjoyed country living and was known as the family storyteller.

Surviving are her three children and their spouses, Kathy and David Keller of Columbus, Robert and Marcie Archer of Massillon and Ronald and Janine Archer of Gnadenhutten; 6 grandsons and their wives, Nathan and Tara Keller, Brett and Jessica Keller, Anthony and Amy Archer, Austin and Jessie Archer, Andrew and Stephanie Archer and Adrian and Alyce Archer; 9 great-grandchildren, Lilly, Charlotte, Henry and Hannah Keller and Aslan, Jacob, Olivia, Aaron and Arabella Archer; sister, Bessie Atkinson of Wooster; sister-in-law, Roberta Pittman of Wooster and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; sister, Wilma McDougal and brother, Starling Pittman.

Friends may call from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30th at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. A private family graveside service will be held at Canaan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 408 Ninth St., SW, Suite 3400, Canton, OH 44707.
