Anthony James Hollingsworth, 82, of Wooster, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare after a period of declining health.
Tony was born in Cleveland and was the son of the late Delmer and Evelyn Hollingsworth. He graduated from Jeromesville High School and had retired from Apple Creek Developmental Center. He had also been an Ohio State Patrolman, a Police Officer at Smithville and had worked at Timken Steel. On Oct. 8, 1983 he married Karen A. Teter and she survives. Tony was an animal lover and had been an avid reader. He grew up on the grounds of the Mohicanville Dam which was always his happy place and where many family memories were made.
Surviving is his wife, Karen; his children and grandchildren, son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Todd and Gina Hollingsworth and grandson, Dominic James; son, Bryan James Hollingsworth and daughter, Sarah Jane Hollingsworth and grandchildren Elena Dempsey and Atlas James Dempsey.
At Tony’s request, there will be no services. Memorial donations may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 or to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
