Anna "Jo" Miller

Anna Josephine “Jo” Miller, 89, of Orrville, died peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville. Jo was born March 11, 1928 in Indianapolis, IN to the late John Howard and Cecile (Oldham) Whalin and was first married to the late John S. McConnell. Later she married Robert E. Holt on July 30, 1972 who preceded her in death on April 19, 2001. On March 1, 2002 she married Clarence A. Miller and he survives. She was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis and had made her home in Orrville for many years where she had worked at Orrville Savings Bank, Crown Steel, Schantz Organ Co., K-Mart, Buehlers and at the Smith Dairy Store. Jo was a member of Orrville Christian Church, the Gold Star Mothers of Orrville and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending her time painting, playing her organ and singing. Surviving are her husband, Clarence; children, Michael (JoAnna) McConnell of Hampstead, NH and Randy (Betty) McConnell of Orrville; step-children, Deborah (Aristotle) Zournas of Orrville, Donna (Don) George of Akron, Michael Holt of North Canton and Ian Holt of Florida; 10 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; son, John Steven McConnell who died in Vietnam in 1967; a daughter, Cynthia Ann Watson and brothers Lee and Eddie Whalin. Services will be Tuesday, May 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Orrville Christian Church with Pastor Tom Ledford officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
