Ada L. (Miller) Hostetler

Ada L. Hostetler, 91, of 2666 Harrison Rd., Fredericksburg, OH passed away at home on Friday, May 17, 2024 after a brief illness.

She was born on July 15, 1932 in Mount Hope to Levi D. and Malinda (Troyer) Miller and married Abe J. Hostetler on Nov. 8, 1951.  Abe preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2010.  She was a member of the New Order Amish Church.  Ada was a kind and loving Mother and Grandmother and was known as the Candy Mommy to all the children in church.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Mary and Vernon Nisley of Fredericksburg, Al and Mary Hostetler of Kidron, Linda and Edward Miller, Lizzie and Leroy Mast and Eli and Barbara Hostetler all of Fredericksburg, Ella and Ivan Miller of Wooster, Jonas and Colleen Hostetler of Fredericksburg, Dan and Loretta Hostetler of Dalton, Noah and Sylvia Hostetler of Waynesburg, OH, Ben and Nancy Hostetler of the home, Lucinda Miller of Killbuck and son-in-law Joe Miller of Fredericksburg, Irene and William Miller of Fredericksburg, Ada Hostetler and Duane Troyer of Apple Creek, Abraham and LeAnna Hostetler of Sugarcreek and Christina Hostetler of Fredericksburg; daughter-in-law, Anna Hostetler of Baltic; 79 grandchildren, 199 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and a sister, Amanda and Dan Hostetler of Holmesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Abe, a son, Samuel; 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild and 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Services will be Monday, May 20th at 9:00 a.m. at the Hostetler Residence with Bishop Manass Hochstedler officiating.  Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Prairie Township.  Friends may call anytime after 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the residence.  Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.  The family extends their deepest appreciation to the staff of Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare  for the wonderful care given to their Mother and Grandmother.
