Obituary

Aaron J. “Bus” Rickel, 95, of Burbank, died Wednesday, Nov 9, 2016 at his home.

He was born April 29, 1921 in Burbank to the late George L. and Hazel M. (Young) Rickel and was a graduate of Burbank High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II having served in the South Pacific and on June 16, 1946 married the former Marjorie Warrick. She preceded him in death on June 29, 1985. On Oct. 23, 1994 he married Patricia Cowley and she preceded him in death on Sept. 11, 2002. He retired from Waterbury Farrel having previously worked at Borg Warner and at Lance’s Garage in Burbank. He was a member of the Harrisville Masonic Lodge #137 F. & A.M. and the Chip Carvers. A life resident of Burbank he enjoyed wintering in Florida and fishing in Canada.

Surviving are his daughter, Cindy (Roger) Messmore of Wooster; son, Terry Rickel of Burbank; a step-daughter, Cheryl (James) Hunt of Maryville, TN; grandchildren, Lisa (Dan) Wise of West Salem, Brad (Denise) Messmore of Lodi and Amy (Michael) Schram of Maryville; great-grandchildren, Anastasha Topovski and Natasha and Isabella Messmore and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wives and sisters, Maxine, Hettie and Mary.

Services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following at Burbank Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
