Shane Fitzpatrick Grier

Shane F. Grier, 50, of Creston, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019. 

Shane was born Oct. 5, 1969 in Wooster and was the son of Dianne Click-Schreiner of Creston and Phillip and Linda Grier of Burbank.  He was a 1988 graduate of Norwayne High School and had worked at Buckeye Container in Wooster for 19 years.  Shane loved sports having helped coach little league, pee wee football and helped with the Norwayne wrestling program.  He had played softball for the Creston Moose team as well had helped run the softball tournaments in Burbank and he loved the Bobcats, Browns, Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes.  He enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting, fishing and hunting for mushrooms and he was always a jokester.  He will be best remembered for his courage and strength to face all that he endured from the effects of cancer and a stroke and never complained about the difficulties he endured.  His kids were his life and he leaves behind many memories, stories and much laughter of his life that has been well live.

Surviving are his children, Dustin (Carolyn) Grier of Wadsworth, Lauren Grier of Burbank and Gavin Grier of Burbank; his grandson, Connor Grier; his paretns,  Phil and Linda of Burbank and Dianne of Creston; sisters, Jamie (Jerry Arnold) Grier of Creston and Amber (Gary Martin) Grier of Burbank; 5 nephews, a niece and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services will be Thursday, Oct. 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Danny Jones officiating.  Burial will be held at a later date at Burbank Cemetery.  Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to Norwayne Athletic Boosters, 350 S.
