Joanne M. Glessner, 85, of Creston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019 at Wooster Community Hospital after a period of declining health.
Joanne was born Sept. 7, 1934 in Easton to the late John and Ruth (Reed) Weahry and was the oldest daughter of the 8 siblings. She was a 1952 graduate of Sterling High School and had worked at McIntire Basket Factory for many years. Joanne was a member of Sterling United Methodist Church and she loved to bowl, sit on the porch, visit with friends, shop and sports. Her favorite teams were the Cleveland Indians and the Norwayne Bobcats. Her greatest joy was her family and she always enjoyed spending time with them.
On Dec. 7, 1959 she married Robert “Bob” Glessner and together they shared 60 happy years together.
Surviving are her husband, Bob; her faithful companion, Molly; her sister, Alyce of Creston; her brother, Rick (Brenda) of Burbank and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and two great-great-nephews who Joanne treated as her own and showered with love and support.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harold, Kenneth, Jack and Bobby; sister, Janet, nephew, Brad and her long time furry babies, Lady Bird and Curley.
Family services will be Wednesday, Oct. 9th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Weaver officiating. Joanne will be laid to rest at Sterling Crown Hill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
