Harold Douglas Long, of Jacksonville, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 29, 2019 after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Mr. Long graduated from West Plains High School in Missouri in 1966 and did one tour of duty in Vietnam on the USS Coral Sea and USS Roosevelt. He was awarded several medals including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal and was Honorably Discharged in 1972. Doug was employed as an ASE Certified Master Technician at Express Oil and Tire Service Center since 2014.
He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Sherrie K. Long, (daughter of Bert and Shelby Reed); a daughter, 25 years old Lacy Jean and a granddaughter, 8 year old Zelena Kaye Opal Long all of Jacksonville, FL.
Services will be Monday, May 13th at 1:00 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville. Friends may gather at 12:00 noon at Murray Funeral Home in Creston to proceed to the cemetery. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
