Francis E. “Fritz” Fleming, 92, of Clarington and formerly of Orrville, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019 at Monroe County Care Center in Woodsfield after a period of declining health.
Fritz was born March 29, 1927 near Burbank to the late John Francis and Laura (Hanson) Fleming and served in the U.S. Army during WW II. On July 18, 1949 he married Betty L. Stewart who survives. He retired from Westinghouse and had made his home in Orrville moving to Clarington in 2006. Fritz was a member of Orrville American Legion and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Betty; son, Steve Fleming of Woodsfield; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his brother Joe (Sue) Fleming of Creston and sisters, Janice Damron of Rittman and Joyce (Dennis) Evans of Smithville.
He was preceded in death by a son, David in 2018 and brothers, Thurston, Ward, Robert and Ralph.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24th at 1:00 p.m. at Burbank Cemetery with Pastor Herb Alexander officiating. There will be no calling hours.
