Effie Bertha Schlabach, 91, of Township Road 326, Millersburg, died peacefully at her home on Monday, Dec. 23, 2019 after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 19, 1928 in Holmes County to the late Jacob C. and Sadie (Tice) Schlabach. She had worked for the Molly Miller family in Wooster, had been a hostess at the Inn at Honey Run and was an avid quilter. She was a member of the Amish Church.
Surviving are her brothers and sisters, Dan J.C. Schlabach of Fredericksburg, Edna Wengerd and Ruth Schlabach both of the residence and Alfred J. Schlabach of Fredericksburg; a sister-in-law, Emma Schlabach of Sugarcreek and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Alvin (Ella) Schlabach, Calvin (Nettie) Schlabach, Bartley Schlabach, Christian (Emma) Schlabach, Olen (Ella) Schlabach, Jacob (Lovina) Schlabach, Katie Oma Schlabach and Fannie Marie Schlabach and a sisters-in-law, Mattie (Dan’s wife) Schlabach and Mattie (Alfred’s wife) Schlabach.
Services will be Thursday, Dec. 26th at 9:00 a.m. at the Dale Beachy Residence, 6234 CR 203, Millersburg with Bishop Leon Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Hochstetler Cemetery in Berlin Township. Friends may call any time after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Beachy Residence. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.
