Charles Ray Pittman, Sr., 67, of Quaker City, died Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in Rittman after a battle with cancer.
Chuck was born June 19, 1952 in Lodi to Vernon and Alma (High) Pittman and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had made his home in the Creston and Beallsville areas and had worked in the oil drilling business and at Johnson Hardware in Orrville. Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, hunting mushrooms and Blue Grass music. He will be remembered for always helping others.
Surviving are his wife, Linda (Ball) Pittman who he married on Dec. 15, 2018; children, Charles Jr. (Julie) Pittman of Creston, Misty (Ronnie) Starr of Wooster and Amy (Joe) Pittman of Wooster; step-daughter, Angel (Mike) Sollars of Rittman; grandchildren, Nicholas, Dillion, Devon, Dawson, Damian, Dakota and Dustin; great-grandchildren, Madison, Arabella, Mia, Emberlyn and Greysen; his mother, Alma Pittman of Rittman; sisters, Deb Lauinger of Creston and Carol (Willet) Garens of Rittman; brother, Leonard (Vonna) Pittman of Beallsville and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; a grandson, Branson; a brother, Ed Pittman and sisters, Ruth Meade and Rita McCammon.
Services will be Saturday, July 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Joshua Hetrick officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
