Ada Hope Emerson, 88, of Creston, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster after a brief illness.
Ada was born Sept. 27, 1931 in Huntington, WV to the late Freelin and Norma (Hooser) Walker and was a graduate of Burbank High School. On June 9, 1956 she married Charles E. Emerson who preceded her in death on March 8, 2010. Together she and Chuck operated the Cardinal Grocery Store in Burbank and were members of Trinity United Methodist Church in Burbank. Ada loved doing crafts, was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed decorating her home and truly loved being with her family.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Mellott and special friend, Anthony Nelson of Creston and Debbie and Terry Stapleton of Mansfield; grandchildren, Denise and her husband Russ Tratchel, Matt Mellott, Jackie Morris and Justin Stapleton and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her sister, Bertha Alspach.
Services will be Monday, Dec. 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following at Burbank Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
