Obituary:
Winnie J. Weaver, 67, of Fredericksburg, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2011 at the home of her sister surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.
Winnie was born Dec. 20, 1943 in Massillon the daughter of Joseph and Flossie (Shreve) Hostetler and she married Larry P. “Bedbug” Weaver on Sept. 1, 1963. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 2004. She was a graduate of Waynedale high School and worked for Southeast Local Schools at Waynedale High School and Fredericksburg Elementary for a combination of 18 years. Winnie was very active in the Fredericksburg community organizing veteran's events and loved brightening the village with yellow bows and flags. She was a member of the Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church and the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion post 651. In her life she was active with PTO, 4-H, Waynedale Booster Club and in 2004 was honored as Fredericksburg Citizen of the Year for dedication and involvement in the community. Winnie loved playing with her grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and being with her beloved pets. Winnie was always willing to help other and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her son Todd Weaver of Fredericksburg; her daughter and son-in-law Heidi and Mark Yacapraro; her six grandchildren PFC Anthony Weaver USMC, Alex and Madeline Weaver and Allison, Emily and Joey Yacapraro; Her mother Flossie Mihalo of Wooster; her sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Art Smith of Wooster and brothers and sisters-in-law Ben and Linda Hostetler of Fredericksburg and Chuck and Donna Hostetler of Shreve and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; her father, a sister Mary Drouhard, 3 brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law and 2 nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Rev. Jack McClelland officiating Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m at the funeral home.
